You brought your vehicle in for a brake evaluation, as well as requested an overall vehicle evaluation. There is no charge for a vehicle evaluation, however the brake evaluation does come with a fee, but that fee is waived if you move forward with any brake repairs recommended. The reason there is a fee is due to the time it takes to go over the entire brake system (checking pad wear, rotors, making sure caliper brackets are in good condition, making sure caliper pins are not seized, etc) to make sure we quote you accurately on necessary brake repairs. Had you asked for just a regular vehicle evaluation and we noticed your brakes needed attention, we would not have given you a quote for brakes, without performing the full brake evaluation. Which is what we told you over the phone when your made your appointment last week. Think of it this way - when you visit your doctor for a hurt elbow, you know you are going to be charged to have your health assessed correct? This scenario is no different, regardless of the fact that you were informed of the evaluation fee at the time you made your appointment. Aside from your brake evaluation, you also received a full vehicle evaluation at no cost. Tested battery, fluid levels, evaluation of all suspension components, and more - which all takes our time, which is not free but we still offer this service at no charge. I apologize you were not happy with the service charge, however this is our shop policy to ensure we take care of our customers to our fullest potential.
