Beware!!! They saw and older lady and $$$. Yes that’s what I’m saying. Story…… Everything pointed to it being a bad head gasket. Toyota service dept told me to replace the head gasket would be $3400-$4000! So I googled looking for repair shops near me that work on 2018 Prius. Their shop came up. I called and asked if they could do a head gasket on my 2018 Prius hybrid. They said yes and just bring it in. They said they would have to do a diagnostic first to make sure! That cost was $208 and would not be taken off the price of the repair. I agreed. They gave me a ride home. Then they call and say they think it's the head gasket but their shop can't do it because of all the sensors, and technology. They said the good news is they only charged me $138! To tell me my break fluid was low, my air filter was dirty, and my back wiper was broken! They told me I would need new tires soon! Then tried to sell me tires and a 3yr warenty for....$800+ 🤬 Whaaaaat????? They should have known that they couldn't work on my car before they had me bring it in! They should not have even touched it at all as soon as they saw it! It was obvious it has all the sensors all around the outside of the car! A quick look at it when I brought it to them is all they needed to do!!! They sent out the girl at the desk, not the mechanic, to go out get the key, then give me a ride home. ALL they saw was an opportunity to make some money and rip me off!!! They said I should take it to the dealership for repair. I already told them the dealership said it would be $3400-$4000! That's why I was looking for a independent shop! I took it to West Allis to a used Prius dealer and repair shop. I call them yesterday and he told me he was positive it was not a head gasket. It is a known coolant heat exchange problem! They fixed it!!! Only cost me $243.!!! I gave them a $20 to buy them lunch!

Hi Andrea, Thank you for sharing your concerns. I’m sorry you felt the charges in 2023 were unfair. When you called about your Prius, our priority was to diagnose the problem accurately before recommending or billing for any repair. To do that, we performed: A full diagnostic test – to confirm the root cause and avoid unnecessary repairs. Our complimentary digital inspection – provided on every vehicle to keep drivers informed of any safety issues. During the inspection we noted that your tires showed signs of dry rot. Because you rely on your car for work, we felt it was important to let you know about the potential safety risk. We quoted: $576.92 for replacement tires $129.95 for a post‑installation alignment (required for the tire warranty) $65.54 for an optional road‑hazard warranty For the head‑gasket concern, we followed Toyota’s test procedures. Although our technicians can handle most mechanical repairs, hybrid systems involve high‑voltage components that require specialized certification. After reviewing the repair guidelines, we determined it would be safer for you and your vehicle to refer you to a shop with factory‑trained hybrid technicians. We adjusted your invoice to reflect only the diagnostic time actually used, as promised. I’m glad you found a shop that could complete the work, and I appreciate the opportunity to clarify what happened. If you have any questions about the visit or would like to discuss this further, please feel free to reach me directly at [email protected]. We value your feedback and wish you the very best with your new service provider.

Very friendly people. Professional looking shop. They were glad to give me a ride home while the inspection was being done and picked me up afterwards. I would not hesitate to go there again should the need arise.
